Supported By: Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies Foundation: Ongoing since 2023- Exploring the gender related attitudes of Adivasi children, wards of Ashramshalas  in the residential schools of Palghar district and to inculcate gender positive attitude in them is the main intent of this project. Addressing anywhere from 500-800 children of 8 Ashramshalas, this project is executed by trained local Adivasi Dadas and Didis (big brothers and sisters) who themselves are alumni of Ashramshalas. Because these children spend more time in these schools and less time with their often migrating parents, the school teachers with deeply patriarchal attitudes and senior students are their real influencers, thus making the task of changing minds much more difficult.   Through curated modules starting with nutrition to changes in the body to discovering messages from childhood to exploring how Toddy being a part of their daily life  can be looked at as addiction, these children are discovering many things about themselves, their desires, fears and anxieties. While understanding Child Sexual Abuse they are scrutinizing their surroundings, discovering some impenetrable attitudes and acquiring avenues to protect themselves… The Team facing many hurdles in numerous avenues is keeping up their resolve to  succeed  in their task of inculcating gender positive attitude in these students
