रिसर्च के बाद हमारे fellows का एक और महेत्त्व्पूर्ण काम होता है, उस जानकारी को लोगो तक पहुचाना उसके परिणाम लोगो को बताना. मंडाला में रहने वाली कुछ fellows ने अपनी मां और रिसर्च से जुड़ी महिलाओं को शिक्षा का महत्त्व बताने की कोशिश कि उनकी रिसर्च में पता चला के मंडाला प्लास्टिक फैक्ट्री में काम करने वाली हर 2 में से 1 महिला अशिक्षित है और जिन्होंने पढ़ाई की है वो सिर्फ प्राथमिक शिक्षा ही प्राप्त कर पाई हैं| महिलाओं से चर्चा के दौरान महिलाओं के पढ़ने और बाहर जा कर काम करने के बारे में इन महिलाओं के विचार आए तो पता चला के अब महिलाएं सोच रही हैं अपने आत्मनिर्भर होने के बारे में पढ़ाई के बारे में ताके लड़कियों या औरतों को किसी का सहारा ना तलाश करना पड़े|

Need for Low Cost Clinics & Health Impact Assessment in Two Resource-poor Communities in Mumbai

This project was initiated in the collaboration with SWASTH Foundation and was implemented in the M-East ward of Mumbai in Mandala and in Lallubhai Compound buildings that are built by Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA).
6000 surveys were conducted over three years. 60 families were followed and interviewed every 15 days for three years. Read the full report:

Life as Lived: Illustrated Book of Stories

Through this collection of stories, we hope to offer humane accounts of the lives of three girls*–Manju, Raheen and Alia who had joined our Girls’ Voice Initiative Program supported by Rise Up and Cummins India Foundation.

Training for the digital future

Girls and boys from Mandala and Kaula Bandar were engaged in a 3-month long computer course run by Stree Bal Shakti and PUKAR. The students were highly involved in the process– they asked important questions and learned at a very fast pace that pleased the facilitators.

Collaboration with IIM-Bangalore

The Healthy Cities Wealthy Cities team has been collaborating with Professor Suresh, an economist from IIM-Bangalore, to explore the social capital of small and micro-entrepreneurs in Mumbai. The questions for this collaboration were prepared by the team and the Professor jointly. The team conducted fifty life story interviews of various entrepreneurs, keeping the balance of areas of businesses (leather, food, textile etc), religion, location and language. After reading the interviews, Professor Suresh sent the following feedback to the team:

“Thank you very much, Nilesh, Bali and Nizam. I will try to visit Mumbai in Oct to meet all of you and thank you personally for these insightful interviews that are so sensitively and respectfully done.”

Creating Gender Transformative Attitude in Adivasi Children | Parivartan Project

Witness highlights from our Parivartan Project. We’re working with 831 students across seven Ashramshalas in Palghar, Vikramgad, Wada block. They have shared their knowledge using creative ways.

The schools are located in Bhopoli, Talavali, Aamgaon, Govade, Masvan, Khutal, and Lalthane. The students are from the 8th and 9th standards.

Translating Research Into Action

पुकार संस्थेच्या माध्यमातून आम्ही कळवा येथील जय भिम नगर कचरावेचक महिलांचा अभ्यास हा विषय रिसर्चसाठी निवडला होता. अकरा महिन्याच्या कालावधीत आमच्या गटाने या विषयावर रिसर्च केला आणि त्यांच्या आयुष्यात घडणाऱ्या प्रत्येक सुख दुःखाची माहिती गोळा केली. ग्रॅज्युएशन इव्हेंट नंतर आमच्या विषयाला घेऊन आम्हाला एडवोकेसी करण्यासाठी सांगण्यात आले होते. त्यामुळे ज्या महिलांकडून आम्ही माहिती घेतली ती माहिती आम्ही त्या महिला आणि त्यांच्या मैत्रिणी यांना एकत्र करून सादर केली. आणि त्यांना व त्यांच्या मुलांना कसे शिक्षित करता येईल, कसे सक्षम होता येईल यावर चर्चा करून जनजागृती करण्यात आली. तसेच त्यांची मुले ही कशी पुकार सोबत येऊन वेगवेगळ्या विषयावर अभ्यास करू शकतात या बदल माहिती दिली. माहिती देऊन झाल्यावर आमच्या कामाबद्दल त्यांचा अभिप्राय घेतला.
