About the Subject:

While Mumbai gets rained out in the months of June, July and August, most of this precious resource is wasted and ends up in the sea while most Mumbaikars face water shortage rest of the year. Rainwater harvesting is born out of this reality. But how does one do this harvesting? How is it implemented and can it be implemented everywhere? Can this water be put to some use once it is saved? All these questions haunted Rohan and his architect friends.

Challenges & Learnings:

These researchers faced a crisis both within the group due to the massive risk they had to take over and outside where most of the apartment dwellers were either unavailable or unwilling to cooperate for the surveys. Both these situation were tackled by the group with perseverance and tenacity.

Conclusion:

It was revealed by the research that the average citizen was not aware of the existence of this space. Most visitors were groups of students and teachers who visited this garden for educational purposes. The group strongly felt that raising awareness among the citizens by disseminating information about the park was critical.

End Product:

This group created an innovative animation film, some bookmarks and T-Shirts to raise awareness of their issue.
