About the Subject:
In traditional Indian ethos as soon as the child is capable of thinking, she or he is bombarded with questions regarding what he would like to be in future. Everyone including parents, relatives and neighbors are pressuring the youth to follow some career without taking into consideration their liking, aptitude or preference. Sunil and his friends wanted to explore this predicament of many youth.

Challenges & Learnings:
The main issue here was that of time management and some attrition in the number of members occurred due to inability to give preference to the research project. But those who remained realized the importance of their research subject and they devoted their time to do the needful. Sunil was a second year Youth fellowship participant and he made enormous efforts to keep his own involvement meaningful and to keep the fun of research alive.

Conclusion:

The conclusions in contrast to their expectation were very positive. They found out that the youth is ready and willing to take the challenges of sorting out career choices despite the parental and societal pressures faced by them. In many cases parents are willing to accept out of the box choices by their children and support them in many ways. They also found out that the importance of the career guide or a consular is not yet understood by majority of the parents and youth.

End Product:

This group wrote a beautiful poem depicting their findings and printed it on a special message paper.
