About the Subject:
It is a prevalent perception that youth, in that dreamy stage of life, take the romance and eroticism of the Bollywood movies as real and create real life expectations based upon what is depicted on the screen. Santosh Pathare and his group wanted to find out if there was any validity to this perception.

Challenges & Learnings:
One interesting finding was that girls discuss sexuality more freely than boys. Sensitive issues like romance, love making and homosexuality were handled deftly by the interviewers and this gave all the participants a space to talk about these taboo subjects in an open and healthy manner.

Conclusion:
Private space for romantic rendezvous has become a rarity in a city like Mumbai. In addition the moral policing is on the up rise creating a chaotic, confusing situation for the youth today. Even then the study reveled that most youth were able to discriminate between reel and real romance and love.

End Product:
They created a photo-documentary to enable people to access their research findings.
