About the Subject:
Eve Teasing is a common phenomenon observed in every place. This group of researchers was keen to find out how girls reacted to this and why boys were keen to participate in this.

Challenges & Learnings:
It was a real challenge to interview youth and to raise such personal and sensitive questions. But the researchers took this challenge willingly and persisted in their inquiry.

Conclusion:
The women expressed their fear of Eve teasing and that fear prevents them from taking an easy stroll around the neighborhood. Interestingly they also feel that they cannot dress up the way they like and go out due to the comments they many elicit. Boys had totally different opinion about it. They felt that it was their right to behave in this fashion with the girls in their own neighborhood. They also felt that a well dressed girl actually entices them for such an activity. Even though this is not a serious crime, considering the long term emotional impact of such an activity, the group felt that certain preventive measures need to be taken. One suggestion was to start sex education at the high school level in school and also to try to change the patriarchal attitude towards women in society. Both are important avenues to help change this situation.
