About the Subject:
Santosh Hullagabali was the librarian at St Joseph College at Satpale, a R-Urban area of Mumbai. He and his students decided to study fore private libraries which were located in Mumbai, Thane and other suburbs of Mumbai.

Challenges & Learnings:
The group after their research understood the importance of the privately run, small libraries which provide the critical access of knowledge to suburban people. A few libraries and their authorities refused to give interview to Santosh’s Team but they did not get discouraged and continued their project in a diligent manner.

Conclusion:
Most of these libraries are not funded by Government but depend mainly on the subscriptions of their members. It was noted that most of the members feel greater sense of belonging to these smaller libraries compared to the public libraries and are willing to support them on an individual basis.

End Product:
They created a impressive book containing many interviews.
