The aim of this initiative was to ensure that diversity continues to remain a positive area of learning for the groups. Thus the expanse of the city and location of the groups was used as a way to increase interaction between them. The groups were divided into four major regions- Kurla to Khopoli, Mahim to Borivali, CST/ Churchgate to Matunga and Wadala to Panvel. Members from these regions started meeting with their peers for a variety of activities. The regional meetings have resulted in development of several innovative initiatives such as regional newsletters and “yatras” where members discuss their research, share their challenges and find novel ways to assist each other. The unique aspect of these meetings is that they create a space where youth fellows are given a leadership role in conducting the meeting proceedings and thus develop a sense of ownership in the programme.
