In mid-2005, the Maharashtra government banned bar dancing resulting in a number of bar dancers losing their livelihoods. On August 20, 2005, the project along with Majlis and Point of View organised an open public hearing titled \’Bar Dancers Speak\’ wherein bar dancers addressed a panel of citizens.
